The leader of the RN deputies, Marine Le Pen, announced this Monday in the Assembly that her group would vote in favor of the motion of censure presented by the Nupes “in acceptable terms” against the government budget, in addition to her own.
“Because the national interest guides its words and actions”, the RN group “will also vote on the motion presented in acceptable terms on the other side of the chamber”, said Marine Le Pen.
“I say it, so that no one, not even in high places, is mistaken, in the RN we are not afraid of threats of dissolution,” he added.
Various reactions to the left.
The announcement was received differently by the left of the hemicycle. “The Nupes motion of censure is made to be voted on, not just a testimony,” LFI deputy Raquel Garrido commented on Twitter. She makes me happy that RN is obliged to recognize Nupes’ leadership at this institutional moment in which Parliament stands up against the abuse of power by 49.3 “.
On the contrary, the environmentalist Benjamin Lucas denounced a “cynical and crude maneuver” by Marine Le Pen. “Nothing unites us and nothing will ever unite us,” he insisted in a message posted on his Twitter account.
Not enough to get a majority
The sum of the 89 votes of the RN to those of the 151 elected nupes will not be enough to reach the absolute majority of 289 parliamentarians, necessary to overthrow the government. The right has already warned that it will not vote on the motions of censure examined on Monday so as not to “add disorder to disorder.”
“If one day we have to vote on a motion of censure, it is the one we will have chosen to present. And we are not refraining from doing so,” Olivier Marleix, leader of the LR deputies, commented on Radio J on Sunday.
Under the Fifth Republic, in 1962, a single motion of censure was passed that overthrew the government of Georges Pompidou.
