“The masks fall”: the macronie responds after the vote of the RN on the motion of censure of the Nupes

To everyone’s surprise, the National Association voted this Monday in favor of the Nupes motion of censure. The presidential camp denounced an “unnatural alliance” while criticizing “a Nupes ship adrift”.

This one, no one had seen it coming. If not the main instigator of him and the followers of him. On Monday, mid-afternoon, Marine Le Pen speaks at the podium of the National Assembly. The former presidential candidate announces that her group will vote on the motion of censure of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) on the first part of the finance bill (PLF).

General surprise in the hemicycle. The executive owes his salvation only to the deputies of the Les Républicains party. With his vote, the motion of censure could become effective and thus lead to the overthrow of the government.

Since then, place on the counterattack. Aurore Bergé, leader of the Renaissance deputies, seeks to confine his opponents to two alternatives:

“Either you are a majority and you tell the French (…) that you would be willing to govern together (…) or you admit that there is no alternative majority to the presidential majority,” launches the former juppé from the National Assembly gallery.

“And soon the common program?”

Elisabeth Borne replaces Aurore Bergé. She also wants to show the inconsistency of a Nupes-RN team, an “unnatural alliance,” she says. The Prime Minister pretends to wonder:

“Is this a government where Madame Le Pen, Madame Panot, Madame Châtelain (elected environmentalist deputy in Isère and president of the EELV group, editor’s note), Mr. Bardella, the Mr. Vallaud (elected Socialist MP in the Landes and chairman of the PS group, editor’s note), and Mr. Chassaigne (elected Communist MP in Puy-de-Dôme, chairman of the Left Democratic and Republican group, editor’s note) who propose to the French?

Sacha Houlié, Renaissance deputy for Vienne asks a question on Twitter: “And soon the common program?”, mocks the one who is also president of the Legal Commission.

“The Fall of the Masks”

Other members of the presidential party will play the same music. Meanwhile, Jean-Luc Mélenchon comes out of the woods and plays a few words on Twitter: “The right narrowly saves the government. It was 50 votes short to expel the government. We are ready for succession,” writes the LFI leader.

What to start over the majority and the executive. There are several who reacted to Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s tweet. For Stanislas Guerini, Minister of Transformation and Public Service, and Charles Rodwell, deputy for the majority, “their mask falls off. What an admission of weakness,” the latter attacks on Twitter.

Olivier Véran also answers to the Insoumi. “What has happened tonight, that alliance that you do not deny, is serious. It is time for the republican, socialist, environmentalist left to recompose itself and leave a Nupes ship adrift,” the government spokesman addresses. David Amiel, a Renaissance deputy for Paris, makes similarly harsh comments in reaction to the rebels’ writings. According to him, “a certain extreme left seems to have the historical vocation of serving as a springboard for the extreme right.”

A way to put LFI and RN on the same level. A well known chorus. Since the legislative elections delivered their verdict last June, which gave a relative majority to Emmanuel Macron’s camp, members of the presidential party have said they want to build compromises. But with the parties of the “republican arch”. An arc to which neither the LFI nor the RN belong in the eyes of the Macronists who usually describe them as the two “extremes” of the political spectrum.

“We will never vote on a motion of censure from the extreme right”

Opposite, the left responds. Shortly after Marine Le Pen’s announcement about the vote on the Nupes motion of censure, Boris Vallaud took the floor. The head of the socialist deputies puts the RN at a distance:

“We will never vote for a majority with the National Grouping and we will never vote for a motion of censure from the extreme right.”

If the deputies of the RN voted for the motion of censure of the Nupes, the elected deputies of the left were careful not to do the same with the disposition of the party to the flame.

On Twitter, Olivier Faure responds to Marlène Schiappa who had criticized a socialist party that “before (…) was a great party that defended great principles”. The response of the first secretary of the roses: “An agreement with the RN? We never voted to elect vice presidents to the National Assembly of the RN, we even voted against Marine Le Pen in the second round of the presidential election, which you did not do in the legislative elections by Nupes”.

“Opposite views of society (…)”

An argument taken up by the green deputy Benjamin Lucas.

“The macronie forgets very quickly and with an intellectual dishonesty of rare magnitude the republican bombardment that led her and returned her to power. A little decency, dignity, sense of the Republic!” he writes on Twitter.

This Tuesday morning, Clémentine Autain highlighted on RTL, “political projects, visions of society that are almost in every way opposed”.

“We want to share the wealth, they want to confront the poorest and the popular world. They are obsessed with migration, we are obsessed with the climate”, developed the deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis.
