During the last presidential elections in April, Yannick Jadot had represented Europe Ecology the Greens (EELV) in the race for the Elysee and had obtained only 4.7% of the vote. Since the beginning of the new legislature, environmentalists have been fighting to redo the icing and break the sound barrier against their fellow rebels from the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes).
Above all, the case of Julien Bayou, accused of psychological violence by his former partner, paralyzed the party, partially preventing it from being heard in the field of climate.
Yannick Jadot insists, however, on the work of the Greens in Parliament and in the city councils carried out during the last municipal elections of 2020. “The environmentalists are doing the job”, he believes, citing the favorable vote last week of the senators environmental laws to have “the least bad of the renewable energy laws”, or the “mayors who constantly work to avoid heat islands when there are heat waves, so that we eat well in collective restoration”.
