In the midst of his criticism of the Government’s budget plans for 2025, François Ruffin addressed a “word of condolence” to Michel Barnier this Wednesday, November 27 on BFMTV-RMC. The deputy, now affiliated with the environmental group after his break with the rebels, welcomed the attitude of the Prime Minister in the National Assembly, speaking of “someone calm”, not acting “with contempt.”
“Arrogance” of the Macronists
In other words: the complete opposite of the troops in the presidential camp, according to François Ruffin. “We have heard for years arrogance on the part of the Macronists,” and this “even when they no longer had the means” in the previous legislature due to their relative majority, denounced the Somme elected. And to summarize his words: “With Michel Barnier (member of LR, ed.), there is indeed a change of tone that we can appreciate.”
The praise ends there. During his interview, François Ruffin especially regretted the lack of search for a “compromise” with the left in the government’s budget projects, believing that the Prime Minister is rather addressing the National Rally. “Even physically, when you look at him in the Assembly, he is all the time turned towards the right and actually towards the extreme right,” he lamented.
Consequently, his decision to vote in favor of censure, already announced by the left in the event of application of article 49.3 on budget projects, leaves no room for doubt. If the RN adds its votes to such an initiative, the provision will cause the overthrow of Michel Barnier and his government.
