As the shadow of a vote of no confidence hangs over Prime Minister Michel Barnier and his government, the national secretary of the environmentalist party Marine Tondelier believes “that we must tell people what is going to happen and what to do with this government.”
The day before, with our TF1 colleagues, Michel Barnier warned of “a storm and serious turbulence in the financial markets” in the event of censorship by his government.
“By scaring people, telling them ‘it’s horrible, it’s terrible,’ let’s stop telling them things that are not going to happen, let’s stop scaring people for nothing,” Marine Tondelier proclaimed on BFMTV.
A “probable” 49.3
“We are in a terrible moment, the French do not need cacophony but rather points of reference,” he considered. On the BFMTV set, Marine Tondelier considered that “the 2024 budget was better than 2025.” “For the environment it was better, for the local authorities it was better,” he listed.
This Wednesday, a compromise text on the Social Security budget was reached between deputies and senators, meeting in a mixed commission, after more than seven hours of negotiations. This agreement paves the way for the adoption of the text by 49.3 votes in the National Assembly. Prime Minister Michel Barnier has indicated in recent weeks that he will “probably” use this article of the Constitution to approve the 2025 budget.
