Emmanuel Macron condemns “the resumption of Israeli blows in Gaza” and asks him this Wednesday, March 19 to “return to the high fire” in the Palestinian enclave. The French president believes that this is “essential for the release of all hostages and the protection of civilians.”
The head of state spoke with the heir prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Ben Salmane, welcoming the work of his country “with his Arab partners in a credible framework for the next day in Gaza, which must constitute the basis of discussions.”
“Dramatic setback”
“We will work together in the reopening of an essential political horizon,” said Emmanuel Macron, who organizes the conference on the two states that France will be located in June 2025.
This event “must make it possible to reopen a political horizon to the benefits of the Israelis and the Palestinians,” recalls the French president.
Early in the day, together with the king of Jordan Abdallah II, the French president said he lamented “a dramatic back” after the resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
This Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the launch of “directed land operations” in the Gaza Strip, a few hours after the most important bombings of the Palestinian enclave since the establishment of a high fire in mid -January. These Israeli strikes left at least 413 dead people, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, threatened Hamas by stating that negotiations on hostage “will only take place under fire”, judging that military pressure was “essential” to guarantee their return. The Palestinian movement still retains 58 hostages, 34 of which dead is presumed.
