The issue of “low broadcast areas” (ZFE) must be discussed again in the Assembly, this Thursday, April 10, April 11, as part of the bill on the simplification of economic life.
Many deputies wish to eliminate ZFE, where at least one modification of the system in its current form, which prohibits access to several large cities to the most polluting vehicles.
An amendment as a commitment
Given the unpopularity of the system, the government proposes to modify it through an amendment that proposes to make the ZFE mandatory in Paris and Lyon and leave the choice to the mayors in other cities.
The groups together for the Republic, the Democrats, the horizons, the Liot and the socialists should vote for this amendment.
“We are going to do services, without abandoning the environmental issue, which is an important issue, but proceeding with developments. This is the application of the law in the last kilometer. What is thought of the hemicycle that is sometimes not applicable in the field,” explains Philippe Vigier, Modem Deputy Director of Eure-Er-Loire.
“Punitive Ecology”
On the other hand, RN, Republican and UDR groups should vote against this amendment. They are, for the total suppression of these ZFE, reclassified by the RN parliamentarians as “areas with strong exclusion.”
“We reject this punitive ecology in total contradiction with reality in the field and that will not bring absolutely any solution in ecological matters, but will exclude mllions of French, in particular the popular classes and the middle classes,” argues Momas Household, deputy Rn Du Loiret.
Finally, the rebel France, which offers a moratorium on ZFES “conditioned to the development of individual car alternatives to guarantee the right to mobility for all”, must refrain during this vote.
“The ZFE in the State is an admission of the government’s failure and its total absence of public transport planning,” Deplato France rebel in a press release.
At the moment, environmentalists, who denounce a “bag” text, have not yet defined their position in this amendment related to ZFE.
A possible postponement of vote
Theoretically, the government amendment must be adopted with 290 votes with those of the deputies together for the Republic, horizons, modern, lios and socialists.
The proposal to eliminate the ZFE, from the right, could collect 187 votes if we count the voices of the RN, UDR and LR groups. But in view of the delay taken in the examination of the text, the vote on the entire Simplification bill could postpone after the parliamentary holidays … on April 28.
