For Manuel Bompard, the Executive participates in an economic policy that does not produce results. The France coordinator opposes this Monday, April 14 in BFMTV-RMC for “the additional effort of 40 billion euros” announced the previous day at our branch by the Minister of the Economy, Eric Lombard, to achieve a public deficit of 4.6% of the PCD through the 2026 budget.
While this effort will focus “mainly” on “savings”, Manuel Bompard argues that “the State has deprived 60 to 80 billion euros in revenue per year”, from the power of Emmanuel Macron. “
The policy of the President of the Republic “has contributed greatly to the State, creating deficit and public debt because (he) has chosen a policy of multiplication of gifts to the largest and most large companies,” he says.
“Zucman Tax”
The MP for Bouches-Du-Rhône advocates two measures to find the 40 billion desired by the Government. The first: “Zucman’s tax on the assets of billionaires”, called by the French economist Gabriel Zucman. A device that the left had made the National Assembly adopt during the previous budget, but not preserved in the final copy, adopted by Prime Minister François Bayrou using article 49.3 of the Constitution.
“This refers to 147 people in France. If their assets gravels up to 2%, it returns around 14 billion euros per year,” explains Manuel Bompard. To gather the remaining 26 billion, the rebel proposes to attack multinationals that “today do not pay the tax that, however, corresponds to the billing they perform in France because they have tax optimization mechanisms.”
A line that is obviously not that of the Executive, even if a measure, adopted during the last budget, could have the consent of the left. In fact, the Government wants the differential contribution to the highest income (CDHR), applied to the richest households, presented as temporary and that establishes a minimum tax rate of 20%, or “sustainable” in “a concern for equity.”
“Why not, I do not oppose it to be perpetuated (…), but we are talking about a recipe of two billion euros, so it is obviously very low,” says Manuel Bompard.
The Government will have the opportunity to return to the France Budget State on Tuesday. François Bayrou convenes that day at a conference on public finance, particularly in the presence of Éric Lombard, Amélie de Montchalin (public accounts), parliamentarians, social security organizations or local communities.
It will be a matter of raising awareness about the French “pathologies” of your country, while the fragility of public finances is exacerbated by uncertainties linked to the protectionist assault of the United States. However, this inventory of debt and deficit of France, among the highest in Europe, should not lead to specific ads.
