An additional effort of 40 billion euros, as it plans to offer the Executive for Budget 2026, could be a reason for the Government’s censorship for the RN and LFI, warned its managers on Monday, April 14.
“If the project is to ask the French to tighten their belt once more without the State itself saving money, on the way to economies in terms of immigration, the lifestyle of the State, the communities, well, we will use ourselves to censor it,” warned the vice president of RN Sébastien Chenu in Europe1/CNews.
“We are ready, in the next few days, to present a new motion of censure,” added LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard in BFMTV/RMC. “But since we have no unlimited censorship motions, we are only ready to present this motion if we have a guarantee that at least the deputies to the left vote it,” he added, pointing to the socialists.
Except 49-3, each deputy can only sign three censorship movements per parliamentary session. And, in the political configuration of the Assembly, you can only adopt a motion if the RN and the left, including a part of the socialists, vote.
“We have no choice”
On Sunday, the Minister of the Economy Éric Lombard estimated that France will have to make “an additional effort of 40 billion euros” next year, “essentially” savings, to achieve their public deficit target of 4.6% of GDP in 2026.
François Bayrou convened a conference on public finance on Tuesday to raise awareness about the budgetary “pathologies” of his country.
“It is a very high walk, but we have no other option, it is a matter of sovereignty,” said Modem President Marc Fesneau Group in the public Senate.
This savings goal is strongly criticized to the left due to its impact on growth already weakened by the context around US customs tasks.
“It makes no sense to announce objectives that we know we will have difficulty achieving them, except in making mass taxes or recessive economies,” said Socialist Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve in France 2.
“The reliability of the firm of France, assumes that we make an effort, but this effort must be sustainable and calibrated in such a way that it does not lead to an additional recession of that resulting from the international context,” he added.
