Emmanuel Macron goes to his “emotional thoughts” this Thursday, April 24, after the attack with a knife in Nantes, where a teenager lost his life and three other students were injured, two serious.
“A teenager lost his life, three other high school students were injured, after a knife attack in a secondary school in Nantes. I send my emotional thoughts to families, high school students and the entire educational community whose nation shares the clash and pain,” wrote the head of state in an X message.
This Thursday at noon, a high school student stabbed four students at the Nantes school in Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Ades before being dominated and then put in police custody. “By their speech, teachers have undoubtedly avoided other dramas. His courage forces respected,” Emmanuel Macron praised.
The government requires “control intensification” near schools
Two government members went to the drama location: Interior Minister Bruno Retilleau and Minister of Education, Elisabeth Borne. In addition, the head of the Government, François Bayrou, “asked (…) an intensification of the controls established on the outskirts and within the schools,” in a press release.
The prime minister also said that “that the concrete proposals for prevention, regulation and repression are subject to it in four weeks.” The objective shown: “This the phenomenon of violence committed by minors with white weapons.”
The judicial consequences of this case in Nantes will be specified later during a press conference by the prosecutor of Nantes, on a date and schedule still unknown.
According to BFMTV information, the suspect, Justin P., is a fifteen -year -old teenager educated in private high school. It was unknown to the police and intelligence services before taking measures with still indeterminate motivations.
