“You have to move forward”: Private weekend deputies the last three weeks of May

The National Assembly will open every day the last three weeks of May to continue examining the laws related to palliative care, the end of life and the simplification of economic life.

“There is work and you have to move on.” The agents will be invited to join the banks of the Assembly more days than scheduled in the last three weeks of May to advance in the examination of several laws, BFMTV learned from concordant sources.

During a micro-set, Marine Le Pen said on Tuesday, April 29 that “the Government made the decision to open seven days from seven to the assembly.” Information confirmed in BFMTV by a government source.

“As it was difficult to sit on May 2 or 9, we proposed to sit down the next three weekends to finish simplification, palliative care and end of life laws,” he said. “I think it’s worth it and everyone agreed.”

Three weekends dedicated to three laws

In fact, the Government has said in the morning at the Presidents conference that is likely to be several sessions on May. On Friday, May 1 and 9, they offered for the first time “but most of the group presidents of which Gabriel Attal opposed him,” said a modern advisor. Notably they advanced the time too short to organize and their commitment to be present in their constituency for the commemorations of May 8.

Therefore, it was decided to open the following weeks. On Saturday 17, Sunday 18, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 will be dedicated to the continuation of the examination of the proposals of laws related to palliative care and support at the end of life. On Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 will allow progress in the examination of the bill to simplify economic life.

A “not enough” presence

Other sources indicate to BFMTV that the hemicycle will open on May 16 and 23.

“There is work and you have to advance,” justified a source of the entourage of Patrick Magnola, delegated minister responsible for the relations with Parliament.

“I wanted us to sit on Friday to advance simplification, there are more than 1,000 amendments …”, has advanced the same source.

The deputies are usually “little” present on Mondays and Fridays, days in which they are mostly in their constituency. But for the minister’s entourage, “the location of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday is not enough.”
