Socialist activists and elected officials were attacked during the Parisian demonstration on May 1 because “who are socialists and because some of them are Jews”, accused this Friday, May 2, number two of the PS Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol.
“First there were insults (…) and then they arrived cowards with hood, dressed in black and who have physically attacked the militants and socio-collootic officials, one because they are socialists and two because some of them are Jews,” Nicolas Mayer-Possignol denounced in South Radio.
A person placed in police custody after the facts
“There was a mortar fire (…) we have friends who found themselves in the emergency room, which were injured. It could have been extremely serious,” said the first delegate of the PS and the Olivier Faure competitor for the next party congress.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, a person was put in police custody after the events committed near the Socialist Party stand (mortar fire, degradations and violence). The Prosecutor’s Office has told about fifty arrests for crimes during the Parisian parade that generally took place calm.
