Deputy Daniel Grenon (Ex-RN) was sentenced to a fine of 3,000 euros, this Friday, May 2 in Sens, in the Yonne, for having declared that a binational Maghreb had no “place in the Hauts-Lieux”.
The Criminal Court has varied the sentence of damage of 1,500 euros for each of the three civil parties, the movement against racism and friendship between the Yonne peoples (Mrap), the League for Human Rights (LDH) and the International League against Racism and Anti -Semitism (Licra).
The pronounced fine is twice the requests (1,500 euros), on April 17, of the prosecutor. Daniel Grenon appeared for the “public provocation to discrimination” and “public insult” due to “the origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion.”
Daniel Grenon had been re -elected
On July 1, 2024, between the two towers of the legislative elections in which their renewal grew, and in the midst of a debate in France on the binational, Grenon had declared: “There are people who are Maghrebis, who returned to power, in ministers, etc., so, I feel that these people do not have their place in high places. Well, later, the binationals, the binationals of the magicians of the magicians The magicians, but sorry in the magicians.
These words, pronounced during a debate organized by the local newspaper L’Yonne Republúblaine, had aroused controversy to the national demonstration. Its president, Jordan Bardella, had described them as “abjects” and classified Mr. Grenon among the “Galent sheep” of the party. The deputy was excluded from the RN last fall. Despite the controversy, Daniel Grenon had been selected with 51.38 % of the votes.
“What seems important to us is that Daniel Grenon’s racism is not gentle“, reacted to Agnès Cluzel, president of Yonne Mrap, expressing his satisfaction after trial.
“This is an ideology anchored in its operation for decades,” he added.
The environmentalist Florence Loury defeats United’s candidate, left the legislative elections against Daniel Grenon, had described his opponent as “racist.” His comments “are not under racial hatred”, they had defended Daniel Grenon’s lawyer, Jean-Marc Ponlle, referring to the political context in the audience hearing, particularly within the framework of the proposals of the RN laws on binationality.
For its part, the interested party had fought to clarify the meaning of their words. “If there is a conflict, the binational can decide to leave,” said the 76 -year -old man.
