A bill to combat anti -Semitism in higher education, unanimously adopted in the Senate, began to be examined on Tuesday, May 6 in the National Assembly, deputies immediately show their disagreements on the question of the planned sanctions mechanism.
“Not a single student should hesitate to go to class because he is afraid to be exposed to anti -Semitism,” Higher Education Minister Philippe Baptiste hit the opening of debates.
Make the implementation of “referents” mandatory
“Since October 7, 2023, we have attended an alarming increase in anti -Semitic acts in our society and higher education, unfortunately, it has not been saved,” he added.
The text, transported by Pierre Henriet (Horizons) and Constance the grip (Macronista group together for the Republic), has the particular intention of strengthening the prevention and reports systems, by making the “referents” of each establishment dedicated to the fight against racism and anti -emitism semitism.

The left denounces “Libicides” measures
