Incidents outside the PSG-Senal: Bruno Retailleau denounces “hyperviolence”

In motion this Friday, May 9, in Finistère, Bruno Retilleau reacted to sports daily the teams that took place at night from Wednesday to Thursday in Paris and had resulted in around forty police custody.

On the day after the PSG qualification in the Champions League final, thanks to his victory against Arsenal, Bruno Retilleau reacted this Friday, May 9 to the incidents outside the game. According to the comments collected by the team during a trip to Finistère, the Interior Minister denounced “hyperviolence.”

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the surroundings of the Fields-Slysées, as well as those of the Parc Des princesses, were the scene of overflows. Vehicles and shopping stores have been degraded and the police were also the objective of “many projectiles” launched by “several hostile groups,” said the police headquarters.

Three people were also injured after being overthrown by a VTC driver who went to the police on Thursday. He was put into police custody, he learned of BFMTV.

“It is always the same, this hyperviolence. And it is not just a violence after the party, since the first events began before the meeting. We can see that we have people who simply come to enjoy their favorite activities: disturbances for public order,” deplores Bruno Retailleau with daily sports.

A “specific device” for the final of May 31

“Fortunately, we had about fifty arrests, with about forty police custody, and I hope justice is very, very firm,” added the minister. “You shouldn’t show any weakness.”

When asked about his possible fear of seeing the final of the May 31 Champions League between the PSG and Inter of Milan to give rise to incidents of the same order, Bruno Retailleau simply indicates that a “specific device” of security will be established in coordination with the prefect of the Paris Police, Laurent Nuñez.

In more general terms, the Interior Minister insists on his desire to “fight violence, especially in the stages and its surroundings, a priority,” for example, multiplying the prohibitions of the stadium. “I asked the prefects and the police to point to the most dangerous people,” he adds. “But we have to have penalties that are promoted as possible to deter them.”
