Eight out of ten French think that macronism will not survive after the next presidential elections in 2027, and 82% believe that the political project carried out by Emmanuel Macron since 2017 is rather a failure, according to a dexa – backbone consulting for Le Figaro published this Friday, May 30. For 59% of the French of the French, macronism is not a current of political thought.
While 37% of respondents declare that they had voted for the head of state in the first round of 2017 and/or 2022, are only 26% to believe in the sustainability of macronism.
The French are also 82% to consider that the political project carried out by Emmanuel Macron since 2017 is a failure. And this feeling is even shared by 63% of those who voted for him in the first round in 2017 or 2022.
Macronie struggles to find her successor
In addition, only 17% of those who had voted for the head of state in the first round in 2017 or 2022 provided for a new vote for him in the first round of an upcoming presidential election if he could stand out. Renaissance supporters are the only ones who consider this vote (70%).
The future of macronism also faces the absence of dolphins in the presidential field.
Two representatives of the left wing of Macronie are first, but far from the majority: Gabriel Attal (45%) and Elisabeth Borre (35%). They are followed by Édouard Philippe (31%), Gérald Darmanin (27%) and already Braun-Pivet (22%).
The survey was held on May 28 and 29, 2025 with a sample of 1,005 French representatives of the French population 18 years or older, interviewed online according to the quota method. Marge of error between 1.4 and 3.1.
