Sarkozy excluded from the Legion of Honor: Jordan Bardella denounces a “will to humiliate” the former president

The manager of Far deplores that the former president is excluded from the Legion of Honor after his final conviction in the case of listening. This decision “surprises it.”

Jordan Bardella flies in the aid of Nicolas Sarkozy. The president of the National Rally set up this Monday, June 16 against the exclusion of the former head of the State of the Legion of Honor. A sanction made the previous day in an order published in the official magazine, as a result of the final sentence of the latter to a year in prison for corruption in the case of listening.

“This decision surprises me. I have many disagreements with Nicolas Sarkozy, who for his part fought several times and for several years the national demonstration. But Nicolas Sarkozy was president of the Republic and I have the feeling of so many Frenchmen who there is a will [de l’]humiliated, “says Jordan Bardella in RTL.

“We can legally fight, politically, someone, but I think we should not forget the services that could have been provided,” he says.

The retirement “is correct”

Last December, the conviction of Nicolas Sarkozy was finally made in the case of listening for the rejection of an appeal of the Cassation Court. In this archive, the former head of state was declared guilty of having, in 2014, having tried to corrupt a magistrate of the Cassation Court, Gilbert Azibert, hoping to obtain confidential information and with the help of his lawyer I Thierry Herzog.

However, the exclusion of the Legion of Honor is automatic when one of its holders is definitely convicted of a crime or receives an equal imprisonment or more than a firm year. The withdrawal is “by correct”, in March he submitted to the great chancellor of the Legion of Honor, General François Lecointre, who signed the deputy who deprived Nicolas Sarkozy of the two titles of which he was great, the highest degree.

Nicolas Sarkozy “took note” on Sunday of his exclusion from the Legion of Honor and recalled that the Human Rights Court (CEDR) of Europe still has to decide on his appeal in the case of listening, said his lawyer in a statement transmitted to the AFP.

It was also excluded from the Order of Merit, Nicolas Sarkozy is the second Chief of the French private state of the Legion of Honor after Marshal Pétain, whom he had been withdrawn after his conviction in August 1945 for high treason and intelligence with the enemy.
