“The answer will come when the time comes”: Dominique de Villepin does not exclude presenting himself to the 2027 presidential election

The former prime minister talked about his wishes to weigh about the next presidential elections, without clearly positioning himself as a candidate, this Wednesday, June 18.

“I don’t exclude anything on the contrary.” Guest of BFM Marseille Suppanence, former Dominique Prime Minister of Vilepin spoke about a possible candidacy for the 2027 presidential elections this Wednesday, June 18.

“The answer will come when the time comes,” he replied at the beginning, and added, however, weigh in these elections.

“Anxious to be at the forefront”

Very media, the former prime minister continues to occupy the land before a possible official entry in the presidential campaign.

“I work today to prepare answers for the French and French. We will see what will be the best incarnation to provide these answers and I am completely anxious to be at the forefront of this fight.”

He underlines his experience, having been able to “serve someone like Jacques Chirac” have in their hearts “to bring an experience, a look, a testimony.”

Diplomacy in the heart of its commitment

Proud heir of the Gaullist line and the former Foreign Minister, Dominique de Vilepin made different international crises in his battle horse. From Gaza to Iran through Donald Trump, the former head of government calls Emmanuel Macron and French diplomacy to be “responsible, have composure” and “reject the logic of preventive war”, defending “an alternative path.”

Dominique de Vilepin also says that he is worried and mobilized “to try to advance in the answers for France, in a period of great gravity.” A gravity that is also expressed nationwide. “Our country is stopped,” he breathes.

Adding: “The economy is in the end, companies do not know what is done tomorrow. A France without predictability, is a France that is even more worried when you look at the news and that you see that the world lights, that world leaders cannot agree.”

For the former tenant of Quai d’Orsay, the need, today, is to go “beyond French democracy”, to allow everyone to “weigh more” in the democratic future of the country.
