In X (Ex-Twitter), shortly after the landing of the presidential plane, Emmanuel Macron praised “an important moment” for France and the United Kingdom, when it is the first state visit of a European leader of Brexit.
“It is also an important moment for our Europe,” said the French president. Europe and the United Kingdom must “open new cooperation channels” against the “main challenges,” he added.
“We have a lot to build together: for our own responsibilities, for the stability of the continent, for our prosperity and competitiveness, for the protection of our democracies,” writes the head of state.
The Macron couple must join the Windsor Castle, where they will be officially received by King Carlos III and Queen Camilla.
