“A desire to approach the Assembly”: The Renaissance acts for the sale of its headquarters for 31 million euros

The party led by Gabriel Attal will move to the eighth district of Paris at the beginning of the school year, leaving its facilities acquired in 2019, when the macronist training had a completely different appearance.

Move in sight for the Renaissance. The Presidential Party has acted in the Executive Office (Burex) on Tuesday, July 8, the sale of its headquarters, located in the Eighth District of Paris, after having received a purchase offer from an investment fund, Le Parisien tells us. Information that Gabriel Attal’s entourage, head of macronist training, confirms at BFMTV.com.

The amount of the operation: 31.4 million euros, including almost 20 million euros net for cash, the party still has to reimburse 10 million loans.

In 2019, at the time of purchase, Renaissance had spent 35 million euros to offer this large 2,800 m² building, with not less than seven floors. Political training had a completely different appearance. Two years before, the Walkers had entered the National Assembly in number, causing with them the gain of a public subsidy of around 20 million euros per year.

This is almost 7 million euros today. Meanwhile, the presidential party has chained two losses in the legislative elections, without obtaining an absolute majority every time. Today, the group has only 93 deputies.

“The party is fine”

However, Gabriel Attal’s entourage argues that this sale “is not really a cash issue”, which guarantees that the “part is fine.” To justify this decision, “there is the size (local), of course,” judged too large, but also “a desire to approach the National Assembly,” he told us.

Consequently, the Renaissance decided to settle at the beginning of the school year at 11 Avenue Robert Schuman, just fifteen minutes walk from the Bourbon Palace. From 68 Rue Du Rocher, where the current seat is, you must count double.

If the new headquarters of the match remains spacious, with 2000 m² distributed on three floors, however, it will save money. In fact, this time will be a rent, which will result in a million euros in less expenses per year in positions and maintenance costs compared to the current headquarters, as the Parisian said.

A name change for the party?

This movement could be accompanied by another novelty. On Saturday, when young people with Macron acted a change of name (young people in motion, note), Gabriel Attal validated the idea, suggesting that he could do the same. “You have changed your name. I inspires me,” he said, as Le Parisien reports.

“Gabriel Attal continues what he has started since he was in charge of the party. Refoundation, restructuring the ideological level,” he tells those around him with BFMTV.com.

Everything occurs within two years of a presidential election for which the former prime minister intends to take his part. If he did not declare a candidate, he said that on Saturday he wanted to “offer a path” to the French.
