the New accusations by the wife of Adrien Quatennens reinforce the starting position of Sandrine Rousseau. “Today I believe that she cannot return to the National Assembly,” judged the Parisian parliamentarian at the BFMTV microphone this Wednesday afternoon.
The deputy from the North had retired from his position as coordinator of La France Insoumise and his group after admitting to having “slapped” his wife on September 18. Céline Quatennens gives a completely different version and spoke to AFP on Wednesday of “anger”, “crisis” and “physical and moral violence” on her part for “several years”, denying any “context of mutual aggression”.
The young woman also explains that “she wanted to divorce three times” “in recent years”, and “she backed down” “each time under pressure”.
“I invite the justice system to work quickly and investigate this case. You don’t have to go back to the floor,” said Sandrine Rousseau. “The voice of women must be respected.”
LFI should “show height above the subject”
Adrien Quatennens is called up on December 13 before the court of Lille of appearance upon admission of guilt. This simplified procedure is offered to the perpetrators of crimes considered minor when they acknowledge the alleged facts.
If La France Insoumise was considering its return in the coming weeks, Sandrine Rousseau believes that her colleagues are “well aware of the problem” and “invites them to be elevated on the subject”.
The LFI deputy Clémentine Autain, for her part, called on her group to “listen one way or another” to Céline Quatennens “if she accepts it”, in the columns of the figaro. Olivier Faure, the head of the Socialists, judges that “the return of Adrien Quatennens” to the Assembly “is now impossible”.
