Jacques Chirac and then Michel Rocard
Between 1973 and 1990, Olivier Shirn was a member of several right and left governments, especially as Secretary of State of Dom-Tom in the Jacques Chirac government, after having started his career in the UDR of the Gaullist party.
In the summer of 1990, he had to present his resignation as Minister of Tourism in the Government of Michel Rocard after organizing a conference paying extras to fill the room. This case had finished his political career.
Former local chosen official, he had also been mayor of the vire community in Calvados from 1971 to 1989 and president of the Urban Community of Cherbourg.
