France Inter announced Friday night that suspended its columnist Thomas Legrand in an antenna, after the transmission of a video that shows it to make litigious comments addressed to the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, before the leaders of the Socialist Party.
During this exchange revealed by the monthly L’Onluncio, Mr. Legrand, also a liberation journalist, said in particular: “We do what we need for Dati, Patrick (Cohen) and me”, that is to say against her in her career in the City of Paris to which she is a candidate. According to the newspaper, the video was filmed in July, without the knowledge of the participants in a Parisian restaurant.
“We decided to suspend Thomas Legrand of the antenna as a conservatory. It will not be in the air this Sunday,” France inter.
Patrick Cohen present in video
Also columnist of France Inter, as well as for France Télévisions, Patrick Cohen is at the table of Mr. Legrand together with the general secretary of PS, Pierre Jouvet, and the president of the National Council of PS, Luc Broussy. He made them analyze the political situation during this informal meeting, in principle outside the microphone and the camera.
Rachida Dati, invested as a candidate for the Republicans in the City of Paris, asked that measures be taken towards the two columnists.
“Public service journalists and the Liberation + Claims do what is needed to eliminate elections in Paris. Serious comments and contrary to ethics that can be exposed to sanctions. Everyone must assume responsibility,” he reacted to X.
On Friday night, Thomas Legrand, however, challenged AFP the intention he lent him. “My job is to fight against the lies of Mrs. Dati and her attitude towards the press. I don’t fight her politically,” he said.
The journalist did not want to comment on his suspension of France Inter. The incorrect, founded in 2017 by relatives of Marion Maréchal, affirms himself as “conservative” and advocates a union of the lines.
