On the eve of a “blocking of everything” mobilization that will take place on Wednesday, September 10, Interior Minister Bruno Retilleau announced “zero tolerance” against the overflows that could occur outside the demonstrations.
“There are actions that can be much more intense: block actions, sabotage actions … again much more violent,” said Bruno Retailleau during a press conference on Tuesday.
“There are several groups that are preparing, and there is zero tolerance,” he added.
To stop the phenomenon, Bruno Retailleau remarkably mentioned the “classic” established operations to guarantee security. “The freedom to demonstrate is guaranteed by our Constitution and the Police will be responsible for ensuring that those who want to demonstrate in silence can do so,” added the Interior Minister.
“Occupy the ground in sensitive areas”
As of Tuesday night, reinforcements “will occupy the field in sensitive areas,” Bruno Retailleau announced, citing “vital points” and “essential infrastructure”, such as refineries, stations or even rocks.
A massive device of 80,000 police and gendarms will be deployed with the support of helicopters, drones, water launcher vehicles or hundreds of hundreds of armored ones.
Territorial intelligence always makes a participation around 100,000 people throughout France. If the scope of the mobilization is uncertain, it brings together union activists, broader associations and personalities on the left.
