“It is a visible assembly to the naked eye”: Patrick Cohen accuses the media of the incorrect “dishonesty” after the publication of a controversy video

Patrick Cohen explained Monday night in the video broadcast by the conservative media, the wrong one that shows it to the restaurant with officials of the Socialist Party, along with another journalist, Thomas Legrand.

The journalist Patrick Cohen announced Monday, September 15 in France 5 to have asked about the sheriff “The Rushes” of the video transmitted by the conservative media, the wrong one that shows it to the restaurant with its colleague Thomas Legrand and leaders of the Socialist Party, which earned them the accusations of Connivance.

“Because we have nothing to blame, we have addressed a sum on the way to obtain the rushes” today, which are all the filmed images, said the journalist and editorialist in the program “C à Vous”. “The sheriff spent this morning at the headquarters of the wrong,” said Thomas Legrand.

Thomas Legrand renounces its weekly program on France Inter

The images transmitted by the wrong “require explanations to the spectators of” C for you “to whom we owe (…) I do it with a little perspective and reflection,” said Patrick Cohen, ten days after the transmission of images.

In these videos, Thomas Legrand says: “We do what is needed for (Rachida) Dati, Patrick (Cohen) and me”, which could be interpreted as a bias against the outgoing Minister of Culture.

“One of the sequences that has been put online, durable 1M12, was cut ten times: ten assembly points that are visible to the naked eye,” said Patrick Cohen to explain his need to see the images as a whole.

The journalist denounces “a stolen and mounted video with the sole purpose of causing a biased and dishonest interpretation to harm us.” He believes that the published extracts “do not reflect what this trivial meeting was.

He also repeated that it was “the dissatisfaction of the relatives of Olivier Faure (the head of PS, the editor’s note) with respect to my editorials who led them to ask for this particular meeting.” On Friday, the Ethics Committee of France Télévisions said Patrick Cohen was not to blame in the video sequence.

Patrick Cohen estimates this Monday night that “these meetings are part of my work”, believing that “sharing coffees and lunch” allows journalists “to obtain information and feed their documents.”

“What matters is if your job does well (…) with honesty and impartiality,” continues in France 5.

For its part, Thomas Legrand has decided to give up its weekly program in France Inter, but will continue to intervene in the antenna of this radio. After this case, the audiovisual regulator, Arcom, must audition Delphine Ernotte Canci and Sibyle Veil, respectively presidents of France Télévisions and Radio France.
