Emmanuel Macron praised this Monday, September 29 “the commitment” of Donald Trump “on Monday, September 29 to end the war in Gaza and obtain the release of all hostages”, in reaction to the great peace plan proposed by the US president.
“I hope Israel is decidedly committed to this basis. Hamas has no choice but to immediately release all hostages and follow this plan,” the French president wrote in X.
“These elements must allow in -depth discussion with all concerned partners to build a lasting peace in the region,” he added, promising that France would be “attentive to the commitments of each of the parties.”
A 20 points plan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of resignation, Jean-Noël Barrot, was satisfied with a peace plan “that explicitly inspires the ideas that France brought with its partners last Monday to the UN”, when Paris officially proceeded to the recognition of a Palestinian state, along with several other countries.
The negotiated plan by Donald Trump with Benjamin Netanyahu “finally opens the possibility that weapons are silent, that hostages are released, that humanitarian aid among Gaza and that a political horizon is taking shape to guarantee the security of Israel and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” added the head of the French diplomacy, in X.
The American Plan of 20 points, published on Monday by the White House, implies the creation of a committee that supervises the transition to Gaza, of which no inhabitant will move by force. Committee that Donald Trump would preside. In particular, the “immediate” end of the war launched in Gaza for the attack on Hamas of October 7, 2023, a withdrawal in the stages of the Israeli forces and the disarmament of the Palestinian Islamist movement. Accepted by Israeli prime minister, it still has to be for Hamas.
