The rebel Eurodiputa Aubry said on Sunday, October 5, without news of the four elected officials arrested during the interception of the flotilla to Gaza, asking for the intervention of France when they began a hunger strike.
“We have no news”, if not, “brief exchanges with their lawyers and with the French consul who could visit them,” Manon Aubry said in France Info.
“We know that their detention conditions are difficult, more than 10 per cell. They began a hunger strike,” he continued, added that “the conditions of access to water are so difficult.”
30 French arrested in total in the flotilla
Insumise France had announced on Saturday that the four elected officials, deputies François Piquemal and Marie Mesmeur, the MEP Rima Hassan and Emma Fourreau, had started a hunger strike “in solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
Manon Aubry has claimed in this context the intervention of the French authorities to repatriate their nationals.
In total, 30 French were arrested by the “Global Sumud” international flotilla, which had about 45 ships and had hundreds of activists who wish to provide humanitarian aid on board.
“It would be that France finally acts”
“It would be that France finally acts,” he launched, in unison of the National Coordinator of LFI, Manuel Bompard, in LCI, who asked “France to finally say something about this issue.”
On Saturday, the leader of LFI, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, had raised the tone punishing “French government cowards”, while citizens of several other countries have already been able to leave Israel.
“Therefore, ours remains in prison. The deputies are ignored by their assemblies. Recall in total. The values and great words of the lesson that govern us are hypocritical positions,” wrote Jean-Luc Mélenchon in X.
But for the former macronista minister of MEP, Nathalie Loiseau, “France does what he has to do” and “exercises consular protection towards his nationals who were in this flotilla.”
“I, this type of operation worries me.
