The motion for the dismissal of Emmanuel Macron presented by La France insoumise was considered inadmissible by the members of the National Assembly, meeting on the morning of this Wednesday, October 8. Five board members voted in favor, ten against and five abstained.
A few minutes after the announcement of Sébastien Lecornu’s resignation this Monday, the Insoumis had in unison requested the examination of the motion for the impeachment of Emmanuel Macron. The motion was presented by 104 deputies.
The president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, Mathilde Panot, spoke a few minutes after the verdict and directly attacked the National Group and the abstention of its five representatives during the examination of the impeachment motion.
“Once again, as always, the national demonstration saves Emmanuel Macron,” he told the French press.
Negotiations are still ongoing
This Wednesday, Rebellious France remains in favor of the resignation of the head of state and the organization of new presidential elections. “We have at the top of the state someone who does what he wants, who no longer cares. The only solution is for him to leave,” LFI MP David Guiraud said on BFMTV earlier in the week.
At the same time, this Wednesday the negotiations led by the resigned prime minister continue with the political forces: socialists, environmentalists and communists. Sébastien Lecornu “will then report (his) conclusions” to Emmanuel Macron and will speak on the France 2 television news program at 8:00 p.m.
