Emmanuel Macron called, this Monday, October 13, on political forces to “work for stability” and not “bet on instability”, one day after the appointment of the new government of Sébastien Lecornu, already threatened with censure by the LFI and the RN.
“I find that many of those who have fueled division and speculation have not been at the level of the moment that France is experiencing and what the French expect,” insisted the head of state upon his arrival in Egypt, where he is attending a “summit for peace” in Gaza.
“The political forces that participated in the destabilization of Sébastien Lecornu are the only ones responsible for this disorder,” he insisted.
The government of Sébastien Lecornu, appointed this Sunday afternoon, is already the subject of a motion of censure initiated by La Francia insoumise (LFI) and presented on Monday morning. The National Group also announced that it had presented its own.
“Work with high standards”
Sébastien Lecornu, re-elected on Friday, was forced to resign a week ago after seeing his government coalition destroyed by the revolt of the Republicans (LR).
Faced with this political chaos, Emmanuel Macron asked “everyone to recover, to work with rigor and respect.” And, asked about a possible dissolution in the event of another fall of the Government, he assured that he would not “make any bets.”
“I hope that the country can move forward with appeasement, stability, demands and service to the French,” the president further stated.
