Within the framework of the examination of the motions of censure against the Lecornu II government, the Socialist Party, in the voice of deputy Laurent Baumel, took to the podium to address the Prime Minister and explain why the socialists will not vote on the motions presented by LFI and RN.
“Consider this non-censorship as a respite and a call to action,” warns the Indre-et-Loire deputy.
The party negotiated, in particular, the suspension of the pension reform, which is currently not included in the draft 2026 budget, but which should be the subject of an amendment.
“Regarding the suspension of pensions, I tell you solemnly this morning: there will be no traps or procedural tricks. You are the guarantor that at the end of the process the suspension becomes a reality,” the parliamentarian launched.
“The very sustainability of your government is now linked to this commitment,” warns Laurent Baumel. Sébastien Lecornu announced on Wednesday that he will present an amendment to Parliament “as early as November” to suspend the pension reform.
