In several groups of the National Assembly, deputies did not respect the voting instructions on the motion of censure proposed by La France Insoumise this Thursday, October 16. The text was not adopted, having received only 271 votes against the 289 needed to overthrow the government of Sébastien Lecornu.
In the Socialist Party, where Olivier Faure had decided not to censure the government, seven deputies voted in favor of the motion. They are Christian Baptiste, Béatrice Bellay, Paul Christophle, Peio Dufau, Fatiha Keloua Hachi, Philippe Naillet and Jiovanny William.
In LR, Alpes-Maritimes MP Alexandra Martin is the only member of the group who has defied the instructions of Bruno Retailleau and Laurent Wauquiez not to censure the government.
“I don’t congratulate myself for it. I wanted to express with these votes the need to get out of this blockade by returning to the polls,” the elected official explained to BFMTV. The latter calls for two elections “first presidential and then legislative.”
Not full of votes between communists and environmentalists.
On the other hand, the left-wing parties that had decided to vote in favor of censure were not satisfied with votes. Thus, among the communists, Yannick Monnet and Mereana Reid Arbelot did not vote in favor of the motion of censure. Among environmentalists, Delphine Batho, Catherine Hervieu and Dominique Voynet did not vote in favor of censure.
Subsequently, during the vote on the second motion of censure proposed by the National Rally and the Right Union and which obtained only 144 votes, three LR deputies voted in favor. They are Alexandra Martin, François-Xavier Ceccoli and Pierre Cordier.
