State registers a surplus of 2540 million euros until October

Until October, the State recorded a surplus of 2,540 million euros in public accounts, an improvement of 9,210 million euros compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Finance announced this Friday.

Despite the year-on-year increase, the balance fell by about 2.7 billion compared to the previous month due to measures to mitigate the impact of inflation.

“The accumulated budget balance of public administrations, in the public accounts, decreased to 2,540 million euros until October 2022, about 2.7 billion euros less than last month”can be read in the Financial Communiqué, which precedes the publication of the overview of the implementation of the budget by the Directorate-General for the Budget (DGO).

According to the cabinet led by Minister Fernando Medina, the reduction is compared to September “is largely due to the impact of measures to support households and businesses to mitigate the impact of rising prices”🇧🇷

Already “compared to January to October 2021, strongly affected by the pandemic, there is an improvement of 9,210 million euros”emphasizes the ministry.
