In an interview published in the parisian This Sunday, the minister had already mentioned his desire to make the “French people who work, or who want to work” the “priority” of the executive.
“New devices in the middle class and that work”
On our set, Gabriel Attal portrayed for the first time: “The French work hard and have the feeling, and sometimes it’s not just a feeling, of not being able to make ends meet and that most of the words we have, the actions we we carry out do not interact with them but with others, with people who do not work.
Next, the minister listed the initiatives taken, according to him, by the Government in this regard. After citing the vote on “tax exemption for overtime” and “the possibility for companies to pay a tax-free bonus” last summer, he set out the roadmap for the year 2023: “We are going to concentrate the new devices in the middle class and which ones work”.
Gabriel Attal made sure to reveal some of them. “The tax credit for child care. We are going to increase the ceiling by 50%, from 2,300 euros to 3,500 euros,” he introduced, to later add: “We are going to raise the income tax scale next year That’s a six billion cut.” – for those who still work there.”
“And we are going to advance the dividend to the employees,” he promised, later explaining: “When a benefit is obtained with the dividend, the company must also return it to the employees.”
Gabriel Attal refutes any “contempt”
The Minister Delegate for Action and Public Accounts has said that the most modest are not forgotten: “For the working classes, we increased the family support subsidy by 50%.”
Still, this insistence on these “working French” and the middle classes may seem to elicit hollow criticism from a non-working population. “We should not be in contempt, but I defend this value of work at the center of Emmanuel Macron’s program”, he justified.
