Jordan Bardella attacks Emmanuel Macron’s record at the international level. During an interview with readers of Le Parisien this Friday, October 24, as part of the promotion of his new book, What the French wantThe president of the National Group responded to a question about the head of state and his diplomacy.
“The last seven years of Macron’s five-year mandate have done a lot of damage, both in terms of France’s image and its ability to influence international conflicts,” declared the MEP.
“While the world is experiencing a period of intense upheaval, France’s voice is disappearing, even in its historical areas of influence such as Africa,” added the leader of the far-right party. Instead of attributing these disorders to multiple and global factors, Jordan Bardella points directly to the attitude of the head of state.
“Incessant setbacks”
“Emmanuel Macron, supposedly the guarantor of France’s interests, is directly responsible. By his way of behaving, by his very ‘OSS 117’ way of conceiving diplomacy, the president will have achieved the feat of annoying everyone,” he added. “Through incessant setbacks, by wanting to embody everything and its opposite, Emmanuel Macron will have ended up embodying nothing at all.”
Jordan Bardella foresees a victory for his party in the event of early legislative elections and could be named Prime Minister. If international politics is the prerogative of the President of the Republic, the President of the RN does not intend to remain passive and exercise his constitutional prerogatives.
“If tomorrow I am in Matignon, one of my first decrees will be to reestablish the diplomatic corps to strengthen the State. France has always defended a singular voice in the world, a free voice. The challenge of the next five-year mandate will be to rebuild France’s credibility at the international level,” he concluded.
