The High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) has published the results of the declarations of the 41 members of Elisabeth Borne’s government. Although it praised the “availability and speed of the members of the government”, the body wanted to pay “specific attention to the risks of conflicts of interest and illegal seizures of interests.”
Thus, a deportation decree was imposed on 11 members of the government in order to avoid any conflict of interest, the HATVP specified, recalling that the transparency of these issues was ensured by the registry of prevention of conflicts of interest.
statements on time
Real estate, assets greater than 10,000 euros, cars, bank accounts, but also shares in the capital of companies, possible debts and even professional activities of the last five years: each of the 41 members of the government had to complete these sections and present their statements to the HATVP which publishes them on its site.
“All the declarations were presented within the legal term of two months from the appointment of the members of the Government,” added the HATVP.
If no wrongdoing was revealed on Thursday, a minister was attacked at the start of the week. On Tuesday, the authority took legal action over the declaration of assets of former minister Caroline Cayeux, the latter suspecting a “misleading assessment” and “tax fraud.” She is suspected of underestimating her assets statement.
