TAP: PSD accuses Pedro Nuno Santos of not knowing what is going on in the company

The PSD today accused the Minister of Infrastructure, Pedro Nuno Santos, of not knowing what is going on in the management of TAP and classified the case involving the Secretary of State for Finance as “abhorrent”.

“Minister Pedro Nuno Santos does not know what is going on at TAP, he does not know how TAP is managed, he does not know how the Portuguese money is spent: the more than three billion euros invested in TAP. And this is very serious”defended PSD Vice President Miguel Pinto Luz in statements to the Lusa bureau.

Pinto Luz found the controversy surrounding the new Secretary of State for Finance, Alexandra Reis, “abhorrent to say the least”, who, according to Correio da Manhã, received compensation of 500,000 euros in Saturday’s edition for leaving the position of administrator in advance of the Portuguese airline , when he still had two years to fulfill duties.

The Social Democratic leader labeled TAP’s February statement to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) as “false”.

“Because we have already learned from the statements of the State Secretary that the compensation was in mutual consultation and that TAP has therefore cunningly lied in its declaration and communication to the CMVM”he said, referring to a statement from February this year that the airline sent to the CMVM, saying that Alexandra Reis would have resigned from her position.

For Miguel Pinto Luz, the clarifications meanwhile requested by the ministers of Finance and Infrastructure and Housing from the TAP administration on the matter show that “the ministers are no longer speaking to the Secretary of State”.

“It was not necessary to ask TAP for clarification, it was enough to talk to the Secretary of State who was there and witnessed the said agreement”defended.

Saying that is the priority of Finance Minister Fernando Medina “raise more and more money from the Portuguese”Pinto Luz shot: “If one charges immorally, the other spends irresponsibly [Pedro Nuno Santos]while the Prime Minister, and let’s not forget the Prime Minister, laughs nonchalantly and continually whistles aside and shakes the water off his robe.”

For the social-democratic leader, ‘it means business’ that the government has done that “a Secretary of State for Finance who is considered to be the executor of TAP’s payroll reduction of 25%, laid off employees, reduced wages, and at the time of her departure is highly rewarded for the services rendered to Pedro Nuno Santos and the ps “.

“It is with great astonishment that the PSD sees this whole situation unfold, the Portuguese money is being wasted and the PS is constantly confusing an absolute majority with absolute power”criticized.

Alexandra Reis, the current finance minister, said today she has never accepted and would return “immediately” if paid any amount she felt was not “strictly in accordance with the law” upon her departure from TAP.
