Pensions: Roland Lescure says “there will probably be two or three years to work more”

Invited on BFMTV this Tuesday, the Minister Delegate for Industry returns to the future pension reform and ensures that the French will have to work harder in the future.

Do the French work enough? Not so, says Roland Lescure on the set of BFMTV this Tuesday. The Delegate Minister of Industry defends the merits of the pension reform desired by the Government, criticized by the unions and the majority of the French, and believes that French workers will have to contribute more time for their pensions.

“Probably we will have to work two or three more years for us to be in line with other European countries,” he pleads.

“And above all that we have a fairer pension system, which means that the minimum pension will be increased,” he said.

“I hope the unions look at all the work”

At the moment, few are those who support this pension reform, but maintained as the objective of the year by the President of the Republic during his wishes to the French this Saturday. Emmanuel Macron wants this reform to apply “from the end of summer”.

However, unions warn: they will mobilize if the legal retirement age is raised to 64 or 65. Including the CFDT, generally less on the streets than the CGT.

“At the moment, it’s not very hot,” admits Roland Lescure. “I hope the unions look at all the work and not just the starting age totem pole, but everything that comes with it,” he said on BFMTV.
