“It’s wrong”: Autain explains that he was not contacted to be part of the political council of LFI

The Seine-Saint-Denis deputy explained to LCI on Wednesday that she had not been offered to join this body with an advisory role within LFI.

At La France insoumise (LFI), the atmosphere is not looking good. New illustration this Wednesday. Clémentine Autain is a guest of LCI. The rebel deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis is questioned about the new direction of LFI, of which Manuel Bompard should take the lead, and from which she was fired, like François Ruffin, Alexis Corbière or even Raquel Garrido -which caused internal stresses.

On set, we let Clémentine Autain know about Manuel Bompard’s statements, a few minutes earlier at the RFI microphone: “You always have to know how to dialogue when there are things that have been misinterpreted,” said the Bouches-du-Rhône deputy. “Ah,” the rebel replies on LCI, feigning amazement.

“I think we understood what was happening, that is to say that everything had to change so that nothing would change,” he calmly addresses.

“It’s false”

He criticizes an inconsistency between the positions defended and the decisions that follow, affirming thus:

“When we defend the Sixth Republic, it is important to show in our operating model how we, too, are bringing democracy to life.”

Clémentine Autain wants to weigh up, that is, “to make this voice heard”, which “has a strong echo in the militant base”, he stressed. A way to better justify her legitimacy to belong to the new direction.

For his part, Manuel Bompard had underlined the day before on BFMTV, a desire to “expand as much as possible”. The test advanced: the personalities not retained in the coordination of LFI, however, will be integrated into its political council – a body with a consultative function. “That’s wrong,” replies Clémentine Autain at LCI. “First, they didn’t ask me anything specific, and I didn’t say at all that I wanted to go to this political council.”

“I am a rebel”

Referring to her latest exchanges with Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Manuel Bompard, the parliamentarian explains that what was presented to her “does not correspond to what I see today, not only about me, but about everything that is done.” She is “convinced” that La France insoumise needs more “collective deliberations” and “pluralism”.

However, Clémentine Autain wanted to reaffirm her commitment to LFI. “I am a rebel,” he hammered, before bombarding: “I participated in the life of this group, both in the National Assembly, in the countryside, I used the rebel colors at the regional level, I held three presidential elections with Jean-Luc Mélenchon.” For the rest, “I want to believe that we will get out of this heartbreak to move towards appeasement,” he concluded.
