“Everything is done so that you have a retirement”: Brigitte Macron’s message to the youngest

The First Lady spoke on Monday night about pension reform, a major project for Emmanuel Macron’s second five-year term.

Guest this Monday night at TF1 To talk about the Yellow Pieces operation as president of the Hospital Foundation, Brigitte Macron was asked about various current issues, in particular about the pension reform.

This star project of her husband’s second five-year period – which “has not changed in 25 years” – should animate the debates at the beginning of the year.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne could, according to several of her interlocutors, propose a postponement of the legal age of departure to 64, instead of the current 62, after having considered 65. This postponement would be associated to an acceleration of the extension of the contribution period, which would increase to 43 years before the horizon of 2035 set by the Touraine reform.

Confidence in the reaction of the French

A reform already highly criticized by the unions, but especially by the French. According to the latest edition of the Barometer of the Economy prepared by Odoxa for Agipi, challenges and BFM Business, 85% of the French are still strongly opposed to any postponement of the legal age of departure

However, Brigitte Macron stated that “the French in difficulty have always reacted positively”, taking the example of the health crisis.

Without wanting to expand on the subject, the First Lady still wanted to reassure the youngest, worried about always leaving later in retirement. “Everything is done so that you have a retirement”, she launched it in TF1.
