Pension reform: Jordan Bardella denounces a “social war waged against the French people”

Jordan Bardella, president of the National Association and MEP, denounced the pension reform project this Tuesday night on BFMTV. He criticized the “injustice”, the “brutality” of the text, especially in relation to popular categories and the middle classes.

There wasn’t much suspense, now it’s up. The opposition, with the exception of the Republicans, opposes the pension reform project that the Government is carrying out and that Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne announced on Tuesday.

Although the left, led in particular by La France Insoumise, flatly rejected the measures recommended by the executive, including the gradual raising of the retirement age to reach 64 years in 2030, the National Rally also expressed its hostility to the text. Marine Le Pen vowed to “block” an “unjust reform”, and Jordan Bardella took over at the start of the evening with BFMTV.

“A Brutal Reform”

The president of the National Association analyzed the government’s plans in very bleak terms. “It is the choice to continue a social war waged against the French people, especially the working classes and the middle classes who know that they are the ones who will have to work even more,” he said.

The one who is also an MEP then wanted to illustrate his point: “My parents’ generation, 1962-1968, took four years of additional work in a decade while life expectancy in good health stagnated.” “So it is an unfair, brutal reform,” he concluded.

Pensions: “a social choice that must be sacred”

Jordan Bardella then stated: “Actually, the government is looking to save a few billion with this reform, despite the fact that retirement is a social option that should be sacred, and thought of more efficiently and fairly in terms of the plan Social”. .

The president of the National Group assured that his formation had alternative ideas to propose on the subject:

“What we are going to defend in the National Assembly is to allow all those who started working at 17-20 to retire at 60, with 40 annual contributions.”

The bankruptcy of the pension system is a “lie” according to RN

Jordan Bardella once again sought to refute the argument of the majority: “The pension system is not exempt from bankruptcy, it is a lie to say it.”

The unions have announced a day of mobilization against the pension reform project on January 19, the rebels want to lead a similar march in Paris two days later. Jordan Bardella did not call demonstrations but launched: “We are going to lead the opposition in the National Assembly. We are going to fight so that the voice of the working classes, of the silent majority, is heard.”
