The National Assembly’s bill on the use of uniforms in schools and public schools was rejected in the National Assembly. The text, rejected by a show of hands, had received a double unfavorable opinion, both from the Government and from the Assembly committee.
“What is needed as cowardice, as bad faith not to vote for such a provision? What is needed as a lie to justify the unjustifiable”, denounced the deputy RN Jean-Philippe Tanguy before the vote.
The question of wearing a “uniform” at school has divided the French political class, with the right and the extreme declaring themselves in favor while the left declaring themselves against such a measure. The first lady, Brigitte Macron, spoke out in favor of returning to the uniform in an interview with the readers of Le Parisien.
