The president of the republic today defended, with regard to corporate rejuvenation, that it is essential to have “a minimum of stability” and “regime similarities” in certain matters and advised against “the worse, the better”.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also stressed that this is a decisive year, taking into account that in the following years there will be elections until the end of the legislature: “What is not done in 2023 will be done in an electoral climate in 2024 and 2025 and 2026, that is not done very well”.
The Head of State spoke in the premises of the “Hub Criativo do Beato”, in Lisbon, during the launch session of the “Pact more and better jobs for young people”, promoted by the José Neves Foundation – created by businessman José Neves, owner of Farfetch – and by the government and signed by 50 companies.
“This is a nudge from those best placed to give it a concerted effort for that change in the specific field of youth employment”considered.

“It’s really the hardest thing in such a small country, really, but this is all of southern Europe, now all over Europe aggravated by populism, and with disorganizations and with so-and-so, it’s very hard to explain why that’s so.” in certain matters it is essential to have the broadest combination of efforts, everyone wins”complained.
According to Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, “sometimes there’s a vortex to the abyss, one thing, a call from the race to the abyss that makes no sense, the worse the better”.
“But the worse, the better is good for whom?”he asked, adding: “For those who have to face today’s problems, it’s bad. For those who have to face tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, it’s worse.”
