The leadership of the Socialist Party brought a bailiff to validate the results of the party verification commission, which gave Olivier Faure the winner in the vote of the affiliates, and that his rival Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol challenges, we learned this Wednesday.
A bailiff went to the PS headquarters in Ivry on Monday, January 23, at the request of the party leadership, which “wants to protect itself against any suspicion of fraud,” says the justice commissioner, in his statement made this Wednesday.
The members’ vote took place on January 19 and a verification commission, which met on Saturday and Sunday, gave the lead to Olivier Faure with 51.09%. But the mayor of Rouen, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, questions this result and calls for a recount, denouncing a fraud that, according to him, “tarnished the sincerity of the ballot.”
An Excel table confirming the results.
The bailiff says that he has crossed the results of each department, between “an Excel table of the results of the verification committee” and a document that groups “all the minutes drawn up by each federation” at the end of the vote.
“I observe that all the elements that appear in one (results validated by the commission) find agreement in the other (PV of each federation)”, he writes.
In the section of Liévin (Pas-de-Calais), “incidents occurred during the elections” and “22 ballots present before the arrival of the supervisor were subtracted from Olivier Faure’s score”, he specified.
In Seine-Maritime, in the Mont Saint Aignan – Déville section, “votes were annulled for the following reasons: violence and intimidation confirmed by a finding report” from a bailiff, and in Canteleu, “28 bulletins were present before the arrival of the supervisor and were deducted from the score of the candidate Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol”, he continues.
“After the reactions of contesting the results and the accusations of fraud against the management”, and “as we had had threats that (the opposing party) would take legal action, we decided to turn the proceedings ourselves and show that everything that was does according to the rules,” the party’s number 2 Corinne Narassiguin told AFP.
The management launched a “transparency” operation several days ago by presenting to the press all the minutes and results federation by federation.
