National Council of Chega elected with 91.9%% of the vote

The announcement was made by the President of the Board of the National Convention, Jorge Galveias, on the last day of the V National Convention of Chega, which takes place in Santarém.

In addition to the party’s president, André Ventura, who was re-elected on Saturday with 98.3% of the vote, the National Council consists of three vice-presidents (António Tânger Corrêa, Pedro Frazão and Marta Trindade) and six assistants (Pedro Pinto, Rui Paulo Sousa, Diogo Pacheco de Amorim, Patricia Carvalho, Ricardo Regalla and Rita Matias).

According to the statutes in force, the National Directorate is “the body responsible for the implementation and execution of the political strategy of the Party defined in the National Convention, as well as for the political supervision of the activities of organs national and regional organs of the party”.

In this morning’s vote by secret ballot, delegates to the convention also chose the list for the National Jurisdiction Council with 88.8% of the vote, the list for the Convention Board with 84.3%, and with 90 .5% of the votes. %, the list for the Audit and Financial Control Board, all separate lists.

Eight lists were submitted for the National Council, which now consists of 30 members elected according to the d’Hondt method, and all succeeded in electing councillors.

The National Jurisdiction Council is now chaired by Bernardo Pessanha, with Ana Caldeira Figueiredo and Luís Montenegro as vice presidents, in addition to Pedro Marques and Ana Maria Regalla Dias Pinto Blaufuks as assistants.

Jorge Valsassina Galveias has been reappointed as President of the Board of the National Convention. Felicidade Vital de Moreira and João Lopes Aleixo are vice presidents, and Pedro Miguel Pinto and Nuno Gomes de Araújo are secretaries.

The Audit and Financial Control Board continues to have Nelson Joaquim Raimundo as chairman, while Miguel Nunes and Rui Fernando Marques da Silva have also been elected as auditors.

With the approval of the most recent statutes by the Constitutional Court, Chega reverted to the 2019 statutes, which enforced changes in the configuration of national bodies.

The AV National Convention of Chega, which takes place at the National Center for Exhibitions and Agricultural Markets (CNEMA), in Santarém ends tonight with a new speech by the re-elected president.
