In November 2021, François Fillon has another court date, for his appeal trial. In June 2020, the former prime minister was sentenced to five years in prison, including two firm ones, a fine of 375,000 euros and ten years of disqualification, in the case of suspicion of fictitious works by Penelope Fillon. His wife, who is seeking release, was also sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 375,000 euros. For this resource, the couple challenges this first decision. François Fillon is finally being prosecuted for not having declared a loan of 50,000 euros to the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP). He had been acquitted at this point by the court.
