“Abbreviated Comment Handling”. This is how Franck Riester defended himself after having weakened his camp by admitting that women will be “a little penalized” by the postponement of the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years provided for by the government reform.
A guest of France 2 this Friday, the Minister of Relations with Parliament supports a bill that “corrects the injustices of the system for women to such an extent that after the reform [elles] they will leave earlier” than retirees “while today, on average, they leave at the same time”.
Take parental leave into account and improve small pensions
“This reform will correct a series of injustices, in particular when taking parental leave into account”, he continued, also referring to “the improvement of small pensions”. It is women “who will benefit the most” from this measure, she said.
On January 23, the minister admitted that the pension reform would not be as “fair” as Elisabeth Borne had assured him on January 10.
“The woman, in order to reach her contribution period, uses in particular quarters validated by child […] Obviously if you report the legal age (at 64 years), they are somewhat penalized. We absolutely do not disagree, ”he said at LCP.
