La France insoumise wrote to its partners in the left-wing alliance on Saturday to offer them “to take a new step” with Nupes, particularly in view of the upcoming elections, the party said.
LFI “requested each of the founding components of Nupes (PS, EELV, Generations, PCF) for a meeting to discuss their desire to take a new step in Nupes,” according to a press release.
“We propose to continue and expand our joint campaign on pensions, promoting the creation of local collectives on the subject in all parts of France”, indicates Manuel Bompard, coordinator of LFI, in these messages to each of his allies, made public.
“An Entirely United Nupes”
As for the next legislative partial in Ariège, after the annulment of the election of Bénédicte Taurine (LFI), “we want to verify with you that we can count, as in the other constituencies, on a fully united Nupes after his candidacy”, adds Manuel Bompard .
Within the PS, number one Olivier Faure is determined to support the LFI-Nupes candidate, but Deputy First Secretary Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol believes the issue “is not resolved” if a dissident PS candidate stands.
LFI also proposes to “reject in all parts of France the popular assemblies of the Nupes at the level of municipalities, cantons and electoral districts”, and “to have initial discussions on the preparation of the next electoral deadlines”, the European elections that will take place in 2024 .
“In this moment of great intensity where our confrontation with the politics of Emmanuel Macron culminates, our electoral victories and our unity of struggle validate the strategy of the Nupes forged last June” for the legislative elections, affirms Manuel Bompard, who wishes to “respond to the deep popular aspiration for a political alternative in our country”.
