Marcelo enlists a pair of consultants to telecommute in a family war

The case had already been reported by the newspaper Tal&Qual in its November 23 edition. This weekend, TVI picked up the subject again, reporting that the atmosphere in the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic has not been the best for several months and that there is a feeling of unease among the employees due to a family war.

Two of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s advisers are married and going through legal divorce proceedings, and an allegation of domestic violence remains.

The bad atmosphere between the two, TVI points out, will have led Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to put the two consultants on a teleworking basis.

DN knows that the advisers allegedly involved in this case are Mafalda Gameiro Lopes and Duarte Vaz Pinto.

Duarte Vaz Pinto, within the framework of his functions in the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic, has the areas of commerce, industry and tourism. Mafalda Gameiro, on the other hand, is a national security adviser and, before working in Belém, belonged to Pedro Passos Coelho’s information office and was a member of the SIS.

The President of the Republic has not taken any other measures with regard to the two consultants besides telecommuting. Clarifications provided to TVI by the Presidency of the Republic state that Belém “has not been informed, nor is it aware of the composition of any argument, accusation or verdict, nor trial conviction, in the context of a family dispute between advisers, do not know the situation of such a process”.

Also according to TVI, the prosecutor general’s office confirms that a complaint has been lodged by the independent physician about domestic violence against her husband. This research is carried out under the conditions of the Oeiras department of the DIAP in Lisbon West.
