Very harsh words against the union of the left. After very agitated debates in the chamber during the last two weeks during the pension reform, Jordan Bardella issued a severe judgment to the environmental, socialist, communist and rebel deputies.
“The Nupes considers that the Assembly is a squat for punk dogs, like a ZAD where you can shout, bark, insult,” the number 1 of the National Rally judged this Wednesday on France 2.
“Bazaar” and “very important gift to the government”
In his sights: what he calls “the mess in the National Assembly” which, according to the MEP, has made “a very important gift to the Government” by preventing “the debate on the substance of the reform.” After 8 days of debate, the deputies failed to reach article 7 of the bill that seeks to raise the retirement age to 64 years.
If La France insoumise multiplied the amendments by some 13,000 out of 20,000 when the bill reached the Palais-Bourbon, the RN opted for a very different strategy.
Marine Le Pen has repeatedly denounced “the scam” and “injustice” of raising the retirement age to 64, her group of 88 deputies was relatively discreet during the debates.
With only 200 amendments presented, RN parliamentarians have mainly focused their fight against the postponement of the legal retirement age by wanting to encourage birth rates. The motion of no confidence presented by these elected officials was also largely rejected on Friday night, a few hours after the end of the discussions in the Assembly.
Against the “blockades” to fight against the pension reform
The RN has also distanced itself from the union front which, both through the voice of Laurent Berger and Philippe Martinez, has indicated that it is not welcome in the processions for reasons of “values”. Marine Le Pen denounced the “hypocrisy” of the unions, which she accused of being “responsible for the election of Emmanuel Macron”.
For his part, Jordan Bardella said he “supported the demonstrations” on BFMTV Sunday while worrying about the “blockades” on March 7, the next mobilization date.
