President Emmanuel Macron called this Saturday for “a sobriety plan on water” on the model of “energy sobriety”, evoking “the end of abundance”, during a visit to the Paris Agricultural Fair, in a context of rainfall deficit national record.
“We know that we will face problems of (water) scarcity like last summer: rather than organizing ourselves by force at the last moment with conflicts of use, we must plan for all of this,” explained the head of state.
You have to “be careful with this resource that is becoming scarce”
He explained that France was going to adopt a plan, “we have transmitted in recent days to the Council of State a decree to better reuse wastewater.”
Emmanuel Macron thus called for “better rainwater harvesting”, “to have fewer leaks in the water networks” and “better distribute the use of drinking water according to users”, in particular “continue to produce and invest in the retention of slopes “. .
We must all “pay attention to this resource that is becoming scarce (…) it is the end of abundance, we must move towards sober behaviors in our practices.”
